Basic Services to the Urban Poor (BSUP)
Flats for the JJ Dwellers are being constructed through executing agencies under basic services to the Urban Poor sub-mission of JNNURM. The Government of India has approved 16 housing projects for construction of 55124 flats with a total project cost of Rs.2710.34 crores under sub-mission for Basic Services to the Urban Poor (BSUP). The construction of 14844 flats has been completed for allotment to the eligible beneficiaries. The construction of 8080 more flats have also been completed, however, the infrastructure works are under progress. The construction of 32,200 flats is under progress. This department is also dealing with the grievances, representations etc. pertaining to DUSIB on the above issues.. The action on these issues is to be taken up by the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) which is the Nodal Agency for allotment of these flats in addition to its own Plan Schemes.

- Construction of flats for the JJ Dwellers through executing agencies,
- Providing basic amenities in JJ clusters,
- Allotment of alternative accommodation to the JJ dwellers,
- Relocation issues of JJ dwellers,
- Miscellaneous issue of DUSIB,
- Issues of Rajiv Ratna Awas
- The Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) is responsible for executing /solving the above issues from (i) to (v) except for Rajiv Ratna Awas, where in the identification of eligible beneficiaries is to be done by the Revenue Department, GNCTD, and forward the list to DUSIB for allotment of flats.
Hence, all such references/public grievances are forwarded to DUSIB and Revenue Department or departments concerned intimating the concerned applicant. This Department is not directly responsible for execution.
- Issue of additional resources is not required since giving the guarantee is not given by this Deptt.
- All services under this Department are related to DUSIB/concerned executing agencies and the Revenue Department, GNCTD, and this department arranges to forward the same to the concerned departments/agencies. As there is no direct interface with the public and the execution of services rests with the executing departments, therefore there is no direct responsibility of any officer of this Department in case of failing to provide the services within the timeframe.
